Wound care center growth and performance should be key considerations when a hospital decides to start or continue to support a wound care center. Aligning service lines such as vascular surgery with wound care is an oftentimes missed but valuable connection from both a business development and a patient care aspect. A truly strong wound care management service organization should be able to guide a hospital to ensure consistent and quality-based performance while strengthening such key hospital-based service lines.

Wound Sync stresses the importance of provider first and management company second. We value the physician as the “engine” behind the wound care center. The management services are to support the physician and clinical staff to excel in patient care but is not the primary or sole focus of the wound care center.

The practice of wound “stare” and not wound care is an unfortunate outcome seen in many wound care centers due to potential lack of training of providers who practice wound care. Wound Sync only partners with our own affiliated physician groups (please see helpful links) in order to ensure that our patients receive the most aggressive wound care that will allow for the fastest healing times. Most wound care centers are not performing due to lack of integration between providers and operational management as well as oftentimes, lack of formal provider training in the practice of wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
